Ban on encouraging workers to opt out
New laws came into effect on July 1 banning employers from encouraging their staff or potential employees to abandon pension saving, or rewarding them for opting out. The new rules apply to both existing workers and potential new recruits - for example making a job offer or higher salary conditional on not joining the employer's automatic enrolment scheme.
