Divorce: How we can help

If you're thinking about or starting the divorce or dissolution journey and are getting confused about what this might mean for you and your pension, we offer a dedicated appointment service. Our service, available by telephone, provides the opportunity to talk through your situation with a technical specialist who will help guide you through the options available to you. 

The appointment will cover and explain:

  • The pension options available to you during a divorce.
  • What you’ll need to think about and the things you’ll need to ask.
  • Next steps for you, signposting to helpful organisations and how to access regulated financial advice, should you need it.

Is the appointment right for me?

We’re happy to help any pension saver who is going through the divorce or dissolution process. These appointments are most beneficial to those who are:

  • At the start of the journey
  • Or in the early stages (e.g. have not decided on an option to take)

If you’re a bit further down the road in the process, but have a question or are not sure about what you’re being told, we can still talk to you about your position and any pensions issues that you are unsure of. How to book an appointment?

Your pre divorce/dissolution appointment can be booked by emailing or clicking: virtual.appointments@maps.org.uk

When emailing, please provide your name, telephone number and contact email address, so that a member of our team can contact you to organise an appointment. The team will aim to contact you within 5 working days.  If you don't receive a confirmation email in your normal inbox it is worth checking in your spam or junk mail folder. 

As an organisation, we would never contact you without your prior permission, so please be wary of any unsolicited contact from organisations regarding your pension.
