The government has announced a series of amendments to automatic
enrolment regulations designed to ease the administrative burden on
employers.
The proposed changes include extending the time period within
which employers must notify workers about a waiting period and
their right to opt into a company pension scheme from one week
after the employer's staging date to one month.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) also confirms its
intention to clarify the definition of basic pay for auto-enrolment
after concerns were raised about the complexity of the
self-certification process.
