NEST Rules Published

26 March 2010

The DWP has now published The National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) Order and the NEST Rules. These will take effect from 5 July 2010. The Order and Rules set out the framework for the operation of NEST. The rules and accompanying notes can be viewed by following the links below:

The DWP also confirmed the trustees who will oversee the NEST scheme.  Jeannie Drake, the current acting chairman, has been appointed as deputy chairman of NEST Corporation. The other members of the board are Tom Boardman, Laurie Edmans, Dianne Hayter, Chris Hitchen, Julius Pursail, and Sue Slipman.

Pensions minister Angela Eagle said: "These appointments show the government is committed to recruiting people with proven track records and the expertise to get the job done. Being a trustee of NEST will be a challenging role. These people bring a wealth of experience in running pension schemes, representing consumer and worker interests, and operating in complex delivery environments."
