Report shows pension savings falling

The Scottish Widows Annual Pensions Report has revealed that the recession has led to many people becoming discouraged about saving into a pension scheme.

Women over the age of 50 were most at risk of not having sufficient income in retirement with just 38 per cent saving enough, which is down from 52 per cent last year.

Overall the number of individuals over the age of 30 saving enough for retirement has fallen from 54 per cent last year to just 48 per cent this year.
