Further Guidance on Maximum Retirement Age

05 July 2010

In the emergency Budget on 22 June 2010 the government announced that the maximum age for drawing retirement benefits from a private pension scheme will change in April 2011 (see TPAS news item dated 23rd June 2010).

In the intervening period, from 22 June 2010 until April 2011, transitional rules are being implemented. HMRC has now issued a longer document on these transitional changes. Click here to download HMRC's full announcement.
