NEST to have socially responsible investment

24 December 2010

The NEST Corporation has confirmed it will offer a Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) fund for its members.

The SRI fund will be offered alongside the default fund and it is expected that the advert for investing asset managers to tend for the bid will be released soon.

NEST Corporation's chief investment officer Mark Fawcett said: "We have conducted research and market analysis to try to get a better understanding of what is important to our future members.

"The NEST SRI Fund will consist of a diverse set of SRI principles with a particular focus on human rights, good labour practices, avoiding environmental degradation and armaments."

The Trustees are expected to reveal details of a religious fund option - a Sharia fund - when the principles are announced in February.
