PPF compensation sharing on divorce consultation

01 April 2010

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking views on two sets of draft regulations to enable Pension Protection Fund (PPF) pension compensation to be shared on divorce.

According to the DWP: "The draft regulations will enable pension compensation provided by the PPF to be shared when a person seeks a divorce, a dissolution of their civil partnership or an annulment of their marriage or civil partnership. This will mean that the former spouse or civil partner of a person who is a member of the PPF will be able to receive a share of that person's pension compensation."
