Sudden jump in women’s pension age ruled out

Conservative leader, David Cameron, was forced to insist yesterday that women would not face a sudden jump in their state pension age after concerns were raised over how they would be affected by the Conservative Party's pension proposals.

Conservative officials assured the public that the earliest age they would raise the state pension age to 66 for women would be January 2020 and will affect women currently under the age of 54.
