According to a study commissioned by the BBC half of British
adults do not have any pension savings. The results showed that the
lack of savings was most prominent among under-30s, with only about
one-third putting anything into a pension scheme. A high level of
debt was blamed by many young people as well as the perception that
retirement was too far away to think about.
On a similar note the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has
published a short leaflet on the importance of pensions titled
"People Need Pensions".
