ECJ upholds age 65

A European Court of Justice (ECJ) decision has ruled that the UK's compulsory retirement age of 65 is not a breach of European Law. The ECJ told Heyday, part of Age Concern (which brought the case), that the practice of making workers retire at 65 was legal if there was a legitimate aim related to employment and social policy, and said that the High Court in London must decide if the age limit is justified.
