Engineering firm TRW, one of the largest employers in the West
Midlands, is proposing to close its final salary pension scheme to
new and existing members.
The company told its 2,700 employees that it had been forced
into its decision due to its pension scheme deficit reaching
£500m.
A stakeholder pension scheme without any employer contribution
will be offered to new employees instead.
