The Employers Forum on Age (EFA) along with the Age and
Employment Network (TAEN) has published a survey on the mandatory
retirement age.
The survey covered just under 200 HR management professionals.
The results undermined the argument that there are benefits to
business when workers are forced to retire at 65.
The survey found that around two-thirds of employers who operate
a mandatory retirement age agreed that it could lead to a loss of
valuable knowledge and talent.
More than three quarters of employers who do not employ a
mandatory retirement age felt it was a positive move for the
company in retaining skills and in terms of customer image.
