ONS updates its Pension Trends report

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has made a few changes to its "Pension Trends" report. The report provides a number of statistics for the debate on pensions. It documents changes in pension provision as well as life expectancy and working practices. It was first published as a hardcopy in 2005 and is now available online. Updated chapters are published on the website and two main changes have just been made.

Chapter 14, "Pensions and the National Accounts", has also been updated to show that employee contributions to funded pension schemes have overtaken employer contributions. Employee contributions reached £42.5bn in 2008.
