Retirees continue to work

According to the financial and technology group 1st - The Exchange, many UK retirees are either working or considering a return to work as a result of the economic downturn.

A survey of 2,000 individuals of retirement age found that 53% of retirees are currently employed full or part time in order to boost their pension, with 10% of those looking to increase their working hours. A further 17% are thinking about going back to work because their existing pension is inadequate.
