Equitable group go to court

The Equitable Members Action Group (EMAG) is to take the Treasury to the High Court over its failure to carry out the recommendations of the Parliamentary Ombudsman Ann Abraham following the near collapse of Equitable Life.

General Secretary of EMAG Paul Braithwaite said: "The proposed hardship scheme is totally inadequate, will take years to implement and looks like leaving 90% of victims in the cold."
