Following Government legislation, people who reach their State
Pension Age after the 5 April 2010, will only require 30 national
insurance contribution qualifying years for a full Basic State
Pension instead of the current 39 years for a woman and 44 years
for a man. Because of this, the Pension Service suspended State
Pension Forecasts by telephone or in writing for those people
whilst they upgraded their computer system in line with the new
rules.
We have now been told by the Pension Service that people
reaching their State Pension Age after 5 April 2010 can now apply
for a State Pension Forecast by telephone or in writing to
them.
You can telephone the Future Pension Centre Department of the
Pension Service on 0845 300 0168 and they will fill in the form
with you over the phone; lines are open from 8.00am to 8.00pm
Monday -Friday and 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday; calls are charged
at local rates; calls from mobile phones or cable networks may
differ. If you have hearing or speech difficulties and have a
textphone, call textphone 0845 3000 169.
You can write to the Future Pension Centre and ask for a
forecast application form (BR19) and a return envelope at:
Future Pension Centre

It will take an average of 12 working days for the Pension
Service to prepare your forecast from the date your application is
received.
In addition, from the 27 October, people living overseas with a
UK State Pension entitlement will be able to get a forecast from HM
Revenue & Customs Retirement Pension Forecasting Application
process. For further details, see here
