Final salary pensions face large bill

Aon Consulting is warning that pension scheme trustees may ask sponsoring companies to commit a further £45bn a year for the next five years to make up huge shortfalls in their pension schemes. According to Aon, total pension scheme asset losses over the last year have now reached £226bn for the UK's 8000 final salary pension schemes.
