The Government has confirmed that pension scheme wind-up victims
who were not covered by either the Financial Assistance Scheme
(FAS) or the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) will now qualify for
help following an amendment to the Pensions Bill.
Some collapsed pension schemes, fell between the FAS and PPF, as
they began winding up after the FAS qualification cut-off date of 5
April 2005, but became insolvent before the PPF came into existence
on 6 April the following year.
