Grangemouth pensions deal may be close

30 April 2008

The long-running dispute over pensions at the Grangemouth oil refinery could be resolved as the Unite trade union and senior executives at plant owners Ineos are on the verge of reaching a deal.

Following yesterday's meeting in London, Unite and Ineos issued a joint statement saying: "It was a constructive and meaningful discussion and ended in a proposal that will be considered by the company and the union in the coming days with a view to finding a resolution to the pensions dispute."
