Train drivers stage second strike over pensions

Train drivers from Midland Mainline are due to stage their second 24-hour walkout today in a series of strikes over pensions. A number of services will be suspended and passengers are warned to expect delays.

Aslef, the train drivers' union has said the dispute is due to disagreements over pension provision after a pay deal agreed in 2001. More strikes are expected on the next four Thursdays.
