Tax cut comes with a pensions 'sting'

The Chancellors decision to reduce the basic rate of income tax from 22 per cent to 20 per cent from April 2008 will hit 22 million basic rate taxpayers.

Instead of receiving 22 per cent tax relief on pension contributions, they will only receive 20 per cent.
