Research by online stockbroker Selftrade has found that 51% of
adults in the UK are prepared to extend employment into their old
age if their pension falls short of delivering a comfortable
lifestyle.
The survey also found that a quarter of adults are planning to
live off equity tied up in their house if their pension is
insufficient. A similar number said they were prepared to cut back
on their social life to boost their retirement cash, whilst almost
one in five is open to the idea of spending their children's
inheritance to make ends meet in retirement.
