Scottish Widows is considering putting £2bn of its
£5bn annuity portfolio up for sale, as part of moves to
unlock excess capital.
The portfolio Scottish Widows is considering selling represents
those annuities purchased after they demutualised. It is thought it
would be complex to try and sell those annuities which were
purchased prior to demutualisation.
The portfolio could appeal to a number of investors interested
in acquiring parcels of annuities.
