A report which calls for the Government to compensate those
victims of the Equitable Life debacle has been supported by MEPs,
even though they have no power to force the Government into any
action.
The report said that Equitable Life pension policyholders, who
were tied into annuity policies and who were unable to have these
paid elsewhere, when their payments were cut by up to 40%, were
treated badly.
