CoE Pension Schemes changes to be debated by the clergy

28 June 2007

At the forthcoming General Synod in York, the clergy will be debating the proposed changes to the Church of England Funded Pension Schemes.

Recommendations include the raising of the retirement age, reducing pension increases on future service from 5% to 3.5% a year and increasing the number of qualifying years for a full pension from 37 to 40.

Final proposals will be considered on 5 July.
