Leaked proposals to raise the retirement age from 60 to 65 has
angered Royal Mail workers. In an attempt to address the £6bn
pension deficit, the proposals would raise the retirement age from
60 to 65 by 2010 and cap future pension increases at the rate of
inflation.
The Communication Workers Union has said this is a savage attack
on the pay and conditions of its members and could galvanise
support for strike action.
