Aon Consulting says that overall pension deficits in the UK fell
from £72bn to £41bn over the course of 2006, but has
warned companies not to be complacent as despite these
improvements, some companies will still find that their pension
scheme funding levels have deteriorated as they close off their
2006 accounts.
