The State Pension forecast service, which provides a forecast of
an individual's State Pension, has been put on hold for those
people who reach their State Pension Age on or after 6 April
2010.
This is because of the new rules introduced from that date,
where only 30 qualifying years is required for a full Basic State
Pension instead of the usual 39 for women and 44 for men. The new
rules will apply to those people who reach their State Pension Age
on or after the 6 April 2010.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is updating the
forecasting system to accommodate these changes but says it could
take a year to complete. A DWP spokesman revealed that they would
continue to offer information over the phone.
