Age Discrimination Regulations Delayed

08 September 2006

The DTI have today announced that they will delay implementing the Age Discrimation Regulations, as they apply to pension schemes, from 1 October 2006 to 1 December 2006.

The delay is to allow more time for schemes to adjust. It is stated to be a response to concerns raised by the pensions industry and others about changes needed to be made to schemes.

The delay will also allow the DWP to run an informal consultation in which they will investigate whether any amendments should be made to the current legislation.
