The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a consultation
document seeking views on the Occupational Pension Schemes (Levies)
(Amendment) Regulations 2007.
The consultation document is the third in a
series of consultations issued by the DWP on proposed regulations
to be made in exercise of powers contained in the Pensions Act 2004
as they apply to the Pensions Protection Fund.
The proposed regulations amend the Occupational Pension Schemes
(Levies) Regulations (SI 2005/842) to remove references to the
Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman's levy. They also concern the
administration levy and the waiver of the administration levy.
The consultation ends on 20 December
2006. Following the consultation process, the regulations will be
made and published in draft in February 2007 and they will be
debated in both Houses of Parliament in February/March 2007, to
come into force by 31 March 2007 (or earlier) and 1 April 2007.
