The National Association of Pension Funds has announced that
Joanne Segars will become Chief Executive with effect from 2
October 2006, taking over from Christine Farnish who is joining
Barclays as Director of Public Policy.
Joanne Segars joined the NAPF as Director of Policy in April
2005 from the Association of British Insurers, where she was Head
of Pensions and Savings. Prior to that, she was Senior Pensions
Officer at the Trades Union Congress. She was a member of the Opra
Board from 1996-2001 and is a Governor of the Pensions Policy
Institute. In 2003 she was awarded an OBE for her services to the
pensions industry.
Announcing the appointment, NAPF Chairman Robin Ellison said: "I
am delighted Joanne will be filling this post. Joanne has been
Director of Policy for the past 16 months, a role she has performed
with distinction. The appointment also allows for continuity of
leadership at a critical period in the pensions industry."
Joanne Segars said: "I am delighted to be taking up this role.
Christine will be a tough act to follow, but I look forward to
building on her legacy and taking the NAPF from strength to
strength."
